E-Scooter Workshop, 7-day opening, Professional technical team

Electric Scooter Workshop

We operate a full 7-day electric scooter workshop facility on-site, and can take care of all servicing and repair work.

The most common requests we receive are for repair of scooter punctures, replacement of tyres, and servicing / tuning of brakes. E-scooters are simple and reliable machines, but as with all machines faults can occur, and we are here to keep you scootering. Some repairs and servicing are things the home handy-person can take on themselves, and we are happy to supply just the parts, and the advice, if you like to have a go yourself.

Services available and pricing

Our Electric Scooter Workshop services are invoiced at an half-hourly rate, which is $60 inc GST, with a minimum half-hour charge. A quick opinion however is free, so don’t hesitate to pop in if you have any concerns about the condition of your scooter.

General service:

Our most popular e-scooter service takes up to an hour and gives you peace of mind scootering. Labour is up to $120 inc GST, plus the cost of any parts required. It includes:

  • Brake check. Clean and adjust.
  • Check and adjust the tightness of the whole scooter assembly.
  • Lubrication of required moving parts
  • Checking of tyre and wheel condition
  • Setting of tyre pressures
  • Clean up
  • Test ride

Puncture repair and tyre replacement:

Puncture repairs and tyre replacements usually vary from half an hour to an hour, depending on the model and which wheel requires repair. There is a special place in hell reserved for the manufacturers of the Xiaomi Mi front wheel, but we can usually get even this most hated job done within the hour!

Solid tyre upgrades:

A popular upgrade is to replace the air-filled tyre with a solid tyre, thus removing the possibility of further punctures. Fitting is usually an hour per tyre (they are a tricky thing to do, often requiring unusual activity like boiling the tyre in water to soften it enough to fit on!). A word of caution here is that a solid tyre will never have the performance of a pneumatic, so if you enjoy a sporty riding style, you are best to stick with air-filled tyres. We suggest a considerably lower top speed for solid tyres, as they have been known to throw off the rims at high speed. Not something you want to experience!

Off-road and hybrid tyre upgrades:

More powerful electric scooters generally go very well on gravel tracks and softer ground, and some riders like to change up the standard road tyres to a cross-road or off-road tread pattern. This can yield good results, but be careful that your new tyres will clear the mudguards, as they are always fatter than the original road tyres. Also be aware that a knobby tyre will be noisier and wear faster on the road than a road tyre, and will have less grip on tarmac in the wet.
