WE LET OUR CUSTOMERS SPEAK FOR US
from 61 reviewsApart from having to pay for tyre tubes to be replaced nearly every week/month due to getting punctures easily its still a great scooter, do wish i brought 1 that had stronger tyres though.

Purchased in November 2021.
The review by Pete here was an amazing help for narrowing down to options to two (Vsett 9+ or Zero 10X).
A test ride at ESS quickly confirmed that the Vsett 9+ was the scoot for me.
It have now been 6 months, and I have now done just over 1000km so feel enough time has passed to give a fair review.
First off, the team at ESS have been amazingly helpful. I have had a couple reasons to have to pop back in to see the team and they have been great every time. 100% recommended ESS.
Onto the scooter.
The Good.
* I use this purely to commute to/from work (15.5km round trip). I live in Auckland and now feeling far more confident on the roads, I stick only to Bus lanes or the road (I prefer to leave the footpaths to those on foot).
This scoot can absolutely hit speeds fast enough to keep up in traffic (would recommend plenty of safety gear though if hitting those speeds).
* I choose to start (and stay) with dual motor and at 3rd gear so I can control speed with throttle alone, but the switching from single/dual and through the 3 gears is very easy while riding if you want.
* The folding handlebars are quite handy to help make the scooter a bit smaller to fit in the boot of my car easily (Mazda 3). And the folding mechanism is very sturdy.
* It is light enough for me to be able to pick up, but not too light that it feels flimsy in any way.
* The height and shape of the handlebars are really ergonomic. Iām 177cm tall and it feels perfect for me.
* Suspension is amazing. It was the deciding factor between the Vsett and the Zero 10X for me.
* Having never had any need to be mechanically minded, let alone changed any type of tyre I was concerned if I should even attempt such a thing. However, as explained below I gave it a go. They is a great video on YouTube and while I wouldnāt call it a piece of cake, it certainly wasnāt a big deal.
* The Mechanical breaks for me are sufficient. Hydraulic breaks sound more involved for maintenance, where as these are easy to change the brake pads and adjust if needed (again great videos online for those who are like me and have no idea).
* While I know it is not water proof, I have been caught in a few light showers now and ridden on wet roads a number of times now. The ESS team add sealant to help waterproof a little more. So far I have had no issues with water getting in.
* Plenty of ability to adjust setting to suit your ride style.
The āCould be betterā
* The lights are ok to make you more visible during the day, but do nothing to light your way. I purchased two lezyne lights online from a store overseas when on special. These donāt require a specific mount as they come with rubber mounting band that fits down the narrow gap at the very middle of the handlebar. The other is mounted sideways on the locking mechanism so it is low enough to not be at eye level with traffic and can shine far enough forward to light my way if I leave home before the sun comes up.
* The handlebars could be better. There is a known issue with some Vsett folding handlebars that become loose overtime. You can tighten the small bolt when it loosens, but my experience is that the bolt is soft metal so strips easily. This was one issue I went to ESS a couple times for. It never got any worse than a slight wiggle, but it doesnāt feel great to know it wobbles a bit Iād you are traveling at speed in traffic.
* Tyre punctures. Not an uncommon issue with scooters, but is particularly common the rear tyre with Vsett as the standard tyres seem to be of a less than idea quality. That being said, the team at ESS replaced my first two flats at no charge as they were due to faulty tyres. At the third flat (averaged one a month or one every 100km), I decided I had had enough of this and learned to change my own and upgrade to a better tyre. Pumped in some Armour Dilloz tyre sealant (American brand that seems to be all the rave online for scooters). Have yet to have a 4th flat. Money well spent. And as Pet said get a pack of 19 mm valve extensions, PLU number 130230, from Supercheap and you will not lose any air when you remove the pump after inflating.
* The mudguards do ok when the road is only very lightly wet. Anything more than that and itās like they arenāt there at all. 1st (and last) time that happened, by the time I got to work the back of my pants were drenched all the way up to my back! There are what appears to be decorative holes in the mudguards. Putting some black tape across the holes in the rear mudguard has fixed this issue.
* The horn is not great. But I donāt use it so itās not an issue for me.
Just like Pete, the 10+ would have been overkill for me.
I love my Vsett 9+, and 100% recommend the ESS for all sales and service needs.

The tubes came in two days and they fit perfectly!

The Vsett 10 + delivers the goods. I got 50 km on half a battery on one motor and I weigh 95 kg. It powers me effortlessly up the Queen St hill in gear one with a single motor. Brakes are very good but have a bite that comes on quickly. I have not found the charging ports to be an issue with my feet as this scooter likes a foot firmly at or on the rear foot mount. It soaks up a big bump very well as the suspension is well designed. I am going to buy a steering dampener for mine and I recommend getting one installed at purchase. It goes well without one but I can see how it would be helpful.
This scooter is highly configurable and can be adapted for any style of riding. It is a good idea to be familiar with these settings before riding and configure accordingly. The battery charger does get warm and I would recommend not placing it on the board when charging as the heat transfers into the battery area. If placed on the guard at the rear the board always remains cool to the touch. Plug the charger into the wall and turn it on before connecting. This will avoid the pop that can happen when connecting as the result of discharge.
The school of thought is that this scooter is not for beginners but I disagree. Anyone with basic scooter experience such as rental riding can ride one of these because this scooter can be anything you want it to be. The advantages it offers in handling, braking and suspension are simply too good to pass up. All that needs to be done is to go into the settings and dial the scooter down until its a just a pussy cat.
Turn off cruise control, select the push required for trigger option, dial down the power and acceleration and you have one placid beast. Dial up the settings as you get more experience and the scooter simply adapts to your requirements.
The one feature that is not really up to snuff would have to be the horn. The light is sufficient in lit streets but an auxiliary light would pay big dividends. I believe I got the best scooter for the money in the Vsett 10 +. It is a scooter that gets and demands respect.

Product arrived early during a working week, was packed secure and the servƬce was great ( answered all novice Q ) I'm easing into it slowly but...yeah it's a machine.

This scooter has lived up to it's reputation. Love it. Great straight out of the box.

a totally awesome scooter I also have an S8 this one is way smoother totally worth the extra money goes over all terrain great still both scooter exceed my expectations

I want to thank Jono who put me onto the Nami. Itās an outstanding scooter. Wow.

This scooter is fast enough to be safe, but not too fast to be dangerous. Does 40km easy on the flat and 29km on a steep up hill. Folds down to fit inside a small car too which is great if you get scooter to work but need to uber home. Ride every day to work and is amazing. Great build quality.

I recently purchased 2 Hero S10's for my wife and I. We are both novice riders in our 60's and have had our expectations exceeded. We've used them on and off road and they've performed exceptionally well. I'm really impressed with the lighting: the headlamp is high enough to be seen and illuminates a good distance in front when riding at night. This scooter feels really safe with great suspension and brakes. They go really well on the hills and have a ton of power. I couldn't recommend the S10 high enough.

I had my first go at this a couple minutes ago and can say its a missile, goes fast, smooth and the suspension works great and they delivered extremely fast BUT..the RGB controller for the lights was missing..nowhere to be found, then the scooter came with the BMX handle which is not the same as the one displayed on the photo ad but for me was a pleasant surprise so you might wanna change the picture to one that's more accurate in case someone is after the portability of a folding handle and if you can clarify what happened to the controller that would be awesome i got to download the app but i not always ride with my phone on me so having the controller would be great, other than that 10/10 quality scooter and costumer service.

This thing is a weapon.
My main ride is about 5km up hill, I start at 45mtrs above sea level and the house is 310mtrs above sea level it did that with a 96kg 50year old on board and was traveling at 24kph with both motor's engaged.
Would highly recommend.
Only note it is on the heavy side, but that does make for a solid built scooter
The team at ESS have been amazing, helpful advice and great communication
Thanks
