Segway Ninebot E25

Segway have created a fantastic entry-level e-escooter, building on the success of the ES2. The E25 has developed that original platform to now feature dual-density airless tyres (for no punctures, ever), and improved hill-climbing to a claimed 15-degree incline.

Cruising at 25km/h this is a lovely commuter-scooter for flatter terrain, and is also IPx4 water-resistant, in case you are caught out in a shower. Factory-estimated range is 25km/h, although as with all scooters the actual range achieved depends a lot on the terrain, riders weight, and riding style.

 The construction is minimalist and futuristic, with barely a wire visible anyway. A masterpiece of styling that really looks the part. The LED 'mood lighting' also allows you to play with colours and pulse patterns with the under-deck downlights.

 The ride is softened by the neat head-shock, and for airless tyres is reassuringly shock-absorbent. 

 For the speed freaks and power-monsters there are bigger and bolder scooters to consider. However, if your objective is a light and manageable scooter for shorter commutes at a smart price, this one should be top of your list.
